COOKING WITHOUT FIRE
Students of Grades 5 and 6 from Delhi Public School, Mysore, participated in a vibrant No Fire Cooking Competition organized by the management of Jal Mahal Resort. The event showcased the culinary talents of our young chefs, who competed in the categories of Sandwich, Salad and Mocktail preparation. Set against the peaceful and inspiring ambience of the resort, the competition brought out the creativity and skill of the students. Their fabulous and delicious dishes impressed everyone present, including the esteemed chef-judge, who praised the remarkable presentation and innovation displayed by the participants. The event added a delightful and meaningful touch to the Children’s Day celebrations. It was a day filled with fun, food and fantastic memories, as our little chefs truly rocked the stage with their culinary masterpieces.
MATH QUIZ
On December 19, 2024, the AV Room at Delhi Public School- Mysore buzzed with energy as the Maths Department hosted an inter-house quiz for Classes VI, VII and VIII. Designed to spark critical thinking and teamwork, the quiz featured timed rounds, a live leaderboard and challenging questions tailored to each grade. Narmada House triumphed in Classes VI and VIII, while Ganga House claimed victory in Class VII. Seamlessly executed and well-received, the event combined fun with learning, leaving students eager for more such engaging competitions in the future.
THE INDIA QUIZ-MY INDIA MY PRIDE
Students of Delhi Public School, Mysore, showcased exceptional talent at The India Quiz – “My India My Pride”, organized by Twinning Owl. Aimed at sparking curiosity and celebrating India’s rich heritage, the event was a resounding success for our young achievers.
DHIE – COMPETITIONS
A moment of pride for Delhi Public School Mysore as our talented students showcased their brilliance at the DHIE-organized competitions held at Konkana Bhavana, Vijayanagar, Mysore.In the junior category, our students demonstrated sharp minds and problem-solving skills by participating in Math Puzzles and Crosswords. The senior students displayed exceptional creativity, securing the Second Place in the Drawing Competition. Adding to the accolades, our junior team also clinched the Second Place in the Drawing Competition, making it a double victory for DPS Mysore.
FELICITATION CEREMONY
On 14th and 15th June 2024, Delhi Public School – Mysore held a grand Felicitation Ceremony to honour the achievements of students from grades I – XI for their excellence in the academic year 2023-24. The event saw the presence of the Director-Principal, Senior Mistresses, parents, teachers, and student achievers. Addressing the gathering, our Director-Principal, Mrs. Manju Sharma, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. She shared valuable insights and encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors, lauding their hard work and dedication, and expressing gratitude to the teachers and parents for their unwavering support. The highlight of the morning was the distribution of awards and certificates to the meritorious students who had excelled in various academic and extracurricular activities. Special awards were given to the top performers in subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science, as well as for overall excellence, class toppers and 100% attendance. This was a moment of great pride and honour to the students, as it recognized their hard work and dedication, celebrating not only academic performance but also encouraging holistic development. The Felicitation Ceremony was a memorable occasion that celebrated the students’ efforts and motivated them to achieve greater heights in their academic journey.
DSAS – SOF
Aaryan Chaturvedi, a Grade V student, has been awarded the Defence Services Academician Scholarship (DSAS) by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for the academic year 2023-24. Recognizing his academic excellence, Aaryan has received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- along with a merit certificate. The DSAS, aimed at academically talented students from Defence Services/Internal Security families in Grades I to X, highlights Aaryan’s exceptional achievement and commitment to excellence.
SpellBee Competitions
SpellBee competitions have become a cornerstone in fostering language proficiency and enriching vocabulary among school children. Through rigorous preparation and exposure to a wide array of words, Participation in SpellBee competitions necessitated a thorough understanding of phonetics the sounds of letters and their combinations. SpellBee competitions provided a platform for students to showcase their language prowess. As they successfully navigated through rounds of challenging words, their confidence soared. The Interschool Level consisted of 57 students taking part. 4 School Toppers and 5 class toppers. 6 students secured the Achievement in Distinction category. The Regional/State Level consisted of 28 students taking part. We have 8 students in the accomplishment category and 10 students secured the Achievement in Distinction category.
PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA
Delhi Public School, Mysore, proudly announces the achievement of Aditya L. in the Pariksha Pe Charcha Drawing Competition. Organized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore, the competition featured the theme ‘MANTRAS’ and aimed to promote the Exam Warriors movement led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aditya L. secured the second place, showcasing remarkable talent and creativity. This accolade not only brings laurels to our school but also highlights our students’ commitment to holistic development and creative expression. Congratulations to Aditya L. for this outstanding achievement.
International Commerce Olympiad
Prisha H. Ranka, a Grade 12 student, continues to shine brightly in academic competitions . In the Academic Year 2023-24, she achieved the prestigious First Zonal Rank in the International Commerce Olympiad conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). Her remarkable achievement earned her a cash prize of Rs 10,000/-, along with a Zonal Gold Medal, Certificate of Zonal Excellence, Medal of Distinction, and Certificate of Distinction. Prisha’s consistent excellence is a source of pride for our institution.
IIMUN
Delhi Public School , Mysore excelled at the India’s International Movement To UniteNations (IIMUN) held on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th at Manasarovar Pushkarni Vidyashrama ,Mysuru. Out of five participating students, four received awards , bringing honor to our school. Shriya Purushotham of Grade 9A won Best Delegate for the WEF Committee, whileAditya L, Jagat Biradar and MD Zainul Abidin of Grade 10 D received CommendableDelegate and Special Verbal Mentions in various committees. Their achievements reflect thededication and talent of DPS Mysore students. We also appreciate the organizers for thisenriching experience.
EXCELLENCIA 2024
Our students recently participated in EXCELLENCIA 2024, an interschool fest hosted by Excel Public School, Mysore. The event featured a variety of activities, including Literary Fest, Detective Quest, Art Roulette, Culinary Art, Cyber Chase, and Mock Press. Our students had a great time exploring these events and showcasing their talents. Md. Furqaan(IX), Md. Ashman (IX), Anshuman Nanda (X), and Hardhik Chandraprakash (X) stood out in the Detective Quest, winning first prize. It was inspiring to see their talent and enthusiasm, making the fest a valuable experience for broadening their horizons.
District Level Skating Championship
It is with immense pride and excitement that we announce the triumphant victory of our talented skaters from Delhi Public School – Mysore, who showcased extraordinary skill, perseverance and creativity at the District Level Skating Championship! The rink echoed with awe and admiration as these young stars gracefully glided to victory, capturing the hearts of both judges and spectators.
Our students, Ronak, Mihal, Moulyashree from Grade 1, Nirali from Grade 2, Tanzeem Usmani from Grade 3, Ghaanavi, Gautham Anoop and Mohith S from Grade 4 whose dedication has been evident from the countless hours of practice, wowed everyone with their impeccable routines. From fluid spins to flawless footwork, they embodied the essence of artistry and athleticism. Each performance was a masterpiece, reflecting not only technical prowess but also an emotional depth that truly set them apart from the competition.
Mind Matters Conclave at DPSB – South
The DPSB South Mind Matters Conclave, held on 6th and 7th October, showcased exemplary talent and intellect. Avani secured the 2nd position in the JAM competition, while Shreya and Ranya’s team, Yuva Sansa, achieved remarkable success with a second and first position respectively. Their achievements reflect the dedication and brilliance of DPS Mysore students. Participation certificates were awarded to all participants, acknowledging their contribution to this energy-packed and thought-provoking summit. We extend our gratitude to the organizers for providing such a valuable platform for growth and learning.
ey-stem presentation
The EY-STEM application, designed to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students, has been instrumental in empowering the next generation. At a recent Project-Based Presentation event held at Silicon City Academy of Education, DPS Mysore students excelled. Anokha Ramesh and Tia Jain (XII A) secured first place, while Rishikesh Kumar (XII A) earned a special prize. Krishna Batra, Rounak Kar, and Mohammed Faizulla.K received special mentions for their impressive presentations. Their achievements highlight the dedication and brilliance of DPS Mysore students. Participation certificates were awarded to all, and we extend our gratitude to the organizers for creating such a valuable learning opportunity.
INTER-SCHOOL SCIENCE EXHIBITION
Delhi Public School, Mysore, celebrated a double victory at the inter-school Science exhibition held by the School of India, KR Pete on January 18, 2024. Our teams showcased remarkable creativity, with two teams from the Junior segment (Grade VI-VII) and one from the Senior segment (Grade VIII-IX) earning accolades. Grade VIII students Mohammed Furqaan and Drea Sujith secured second place in the Senior segment, while Grade VII students Manasvi B. and Sanika P. clinched the second prize in the Junior segment. Film transcends cultural and social barriers, making it a powerful learning tool. Four students from Delhi Public School – Mysore—Aditya, Zain, Ranya, and Liya from Grade 10—embraced this medium and won third place for their short film “Voice of Love” at the DPS Film Fest held at DPS Bangalore South. Their achievement highlights the universal values and emotions that films can convey, and showcases their creative talent in storytelling.
Open International Rapid FIDE Rating Chess Tournament
Lakshit, a talented young chess player of Delhi Public School – Mysore from Grade 3, achieved a remarkable victory in the prestigious First Move Open International Rapid FIDE Rating Chess Tournament held in Mysore on October 26th and 27th. Competing in the under-08 category, Lakshit displayed exceptional skill, strategy and composure, outperforming several young competitors to claim the first prize.
This tournament brought together talented young players from different regions, making Lakshit’s accomplishment a testament to his dedication and strategic understanding of the game. His achievement in such a challenging international event at this young age is both inspiring and commendable.
The tournament saw multiple rounds of intense gameplay, where Lakshit demonstrated consistent focus and a deep understanding of chess tactics. His ability to think several moves ahead proved to be instrumental in securing victory, placing him among the promising young chess talents to watch in the future.
We live in a world, where everything has become extraordinarily advanced and children are one step ahead of us. Some children have just wowed the world with their extraordinary abilities.
Kiara M. N., a Grade 5 student of our school has achieved a remarkable feat at the age of 8 years and 1 month. On February 18, 2021, she astounded everyone by reciting 19 multiplication tables from 2 to 20 in just 4 minutes and 56 seconds. Her incredible accomplishment was duly recognized by the “India Book Of Records.” This extraordinary achievement was officially confirmed on July 14, 2023.
Sport has the power to change lives. The ability to drive gender equality by teaching women and girls teamwork, self-reliance, resilience and confidence. Women in sport defy gender stereotypes and social norms, make inspiring role models, and show men and women as equals. In one of a kind competition held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium – Khelo India State Wushu Women’s League, Manha Mehvish, a Grade 6 student of Delhi Public School – Mysore has secured the Silver Medal in the under 27 category. In the same competition, Alina Asad of Grade 3 also won a silver medal in the under 27 category.

A workshop was organised at Delhi Public School Mysore on 3rd July 2023, by the Career and Guidance cell of the school. Ms Shibani Rachel of ‘My Master’s Strokes’ was invited to let the secondary and senior secondary children get familiarised with the world of design, creativity, interiors and architecture.
The workshop was taken up in two sessions, wherein a ‘Design Challenge’ competition was conducted. This entailed letting the students create their own creative and unique masterpieces on themes selected and shared in advance, like Halloween toy, a horror alien, a home décor product that looks normal but gets transformed into a scary product. Children participated whole heartedly and enthusiastically in this competition and many prizes were distributed to the winners by the Director Principal, Ms. Manju Sharma.
The second session involved an interactive career guidance and counselling session, where the various options in the field of design, interiors, jewellery designing, apparel designing and architecture were discussed and explained. Many queries of the children regarding the exams to clear and subject combinations were clarified by Ms Shibani.
Both the sessions were extremely well received by the students and many of them were motivated to get acquainted with even further information regarding the field of design.
A State level P E T non- medalist swimming competition, was held at Mandya on 27th August 2023.

Namrata R. of Grade 8 secured a Gold medal in 100 m Butterfly, 1 Silver medal in 50 m Butterfly and 1 Bronze medal in 200m Individual Medley.
Fariyal of 2nd standard has achieved 3rd place in back stroke, 2nd place in 50m freestyle and 2nd place in 25m freestyle.
Pavak Arya, also of 2nd standard achieved 1st place in 4×25m relay and 2nd place in 25m backstroke.

Delhi Public School Mysore, believes in students exploring all sports. Our master swimmer, Prerith K.R. of Grade 10 participated in the State Level Age Group Non Medalist Swimming Competition organised by the Hassan Swimmers Club (R). With sheer dedication, hard work and untiring energy, Prerith competed exceptionally well and made the school proud by winning the 3rd prize in the 100 mts Freestyle, 50 mts Freestyle and 50 mts Fly in the tournament.

It is our pleasure to announce that Namrata R. a Grade VIII student of Delhi Public School, Mysore has excelled yet again, by securing a silver medal at the 6th National Level, 6th Mixed Martial Arts event held at Lucknow recently. Mixed Martial Arts is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, incorporating techniques from various combat sports from around the world. For many people, martial arts is an integral part of life. People practice martial arts as a sport, a hobby, an artistic expression or a regimen for physical, mental and emotional well-being. Skills learned in the study of martial arts can be applied in other aspects of life.
Namrata is also an aspiring equestrian and a national level swimmer who has won numerous awards.We wish Namrata all the best for future challenges and hope that her hard work will help to better her position in the arena.
Chess holds its master in its own bonds, shackling the mind and brain.
Chess is one of the games, which very few can master. Lakshit.D of Grade 2 studying at Delhi Public School – Mysore has won many such accolades. He has secured the first place in the Akshayakalpa Organic Karnataka State Under 11 Open Fide Rated Chess Championship 2023. He has also secured the First Place in the Under 7 Chess Tournament organised by Rotary Mysore North. Currently Lakshit is preparing for the Karnataka State Under 7 Chess Championship by Karnataka State Chess Association, supported by The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka.
We wish Lakshit the very best in all his upcoming tournaments.

Win or learn, never lose’
We teach our children just not to win but also to learn when they lose.
The current generation has exposure to the opportunities the world can offer. To work on their aptitude as well as attitude towards learning, allowing them to trigger their interest in multiple subjects. The students of Grades 1 to 12 at Delhi Public School, Mysore are encouraged to take up external exams conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation in various subjects like Math, G.K, Science, SSt, Company Secretary and Cyber. Our school takes pride in educating our students beyond text books.
In addition to the Exams, Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) was also introduced by SOF in order to reward and support economically weak children. Nihal M. of Grade V has been awarded Rs. 5,000 under this Scholarship Scheme.
This is the eighth scholarship our school has received under GCSS scheme since 2015.
